I had to go to the office today and both train rides worked out just fine. Surprising!
End of year holidays are a mix of sadness and happiness for me. I canât help but remembering those who are gone, with which I spent so many good times. A part of me wants to feel happy, and celebrate another completed round around the Sun, while the other feels sad because of those I will never see again.
Spending part of my morning recompiling Emacs from source. VIM was nice, but still not what I need for writing things. Editing is great in it, but not the creation process. My to VIM, though. Glad itâs around for more choices.

Today, (just this morning in AEST) I accidentally nuke my pod (twtxt.net). I keep backups, but unfortunately the recovery point objective (RTP) is at worst a month! đ¤Śââď¸ đą (the recovery time objective is around ~30m or so, restoring can take a while due to the size of the archive and index) â For those that are unfamiliar with these terms, they essentially relate to âhow much data loss can occurâ (RPO) and âhow quickly you can restore the systemâ (RTO).
This pod (twtxt.net) is back up and online. However weâve last the last ~5 days worth of posts yâall may have made on your feeds (for those that use this pod).

The last week Iâve been playing around with https://github.com/comfyanonymous/ComfyUI , dang good tool for testing ai models and such. I really like the node based workflow.
And makes it super easy to test any AI model.
Only thing I miss now - is one of those image to video setupâs, thatâs what Iâm working on fixing now. So that I can generate images, and then automatically make them into short videos as well.
Fun to play around with.
IMHO, the original spec had it right when it said (paraphrased) âjust upload your tw.txt file whereverâ. The essence of micro-blogging, as opposed to full-scale blogging, is low friction and low stakes. Imposing a norm that you canât just use any olâ url, looking down on people with insufficently cool urls (as in âCool URIs donât changeâ https://www.w3.org/Provider/Style/URI), puts up too much of a barrier to entry.
