Let’s talk storage… When I initially set out to build my Home (mini) Datacenter
one of the first things that went into the Rack was a Storage Server or otherwise
typically called a NAS (Network Attached Storage).

The server I chose was one I originally bought from UnRAID
who unfortunately don’t seem to make the hardware anymore. The chassis was a custom
iStartUSA 4RU chassis that fit my 600m short-depth Rack. It has 10x 3.5” Hot-Swap
drive bays and 4x Hot-Swap 2.5” drive bays.

Basically I run a ZFS RAID-Z3 pool on this where all our media is stored
and served from as well as backups (not the only backup, more on this later…).

If anyone can find details on the UnRaid hardware and chassis, reply to this Twt
or reach out to me, it would be nice to actually link to it even if it’s only
available through the Internet Archives 🤗
