Let’s talk Hypervisors… The Hypervisor I choose to run in my Home Datacenter is Proxmox VE – There are several reasons why I choose this as my platform:
- It is fully 100% open source and based on open source software
- it is easy to use and has a nice GUI if you need that
- It has a Restful JSON API for automating your infra
- It has built-in support for ZFS
The last reason is the killer feature for me, other Hypervisors such as VMWare(for example) make you pay for additional basic storage features. Proxmox just work™ 👌
There are of course other decent Hypervisor platforms you can choose, however your milage may vary (YMMV) 🤗
